In the October 2016 issue of NZ Performance Car (Issue No. 238) we take a detailed look at the Abbott Brothers Racing 13B-powered FD RX-7. The car is not new to New Zealand drag strips, having been raced for several seasons now, with the team slowly chipping away at their PB to the current record-holding 6.96 @ 313kph (195mph).

This makes them the only 13B car in Australasia to dip into the sixes, despite a handful of cars in Australia who have been chasing after that record for a few seasons. Check out the raw footage below, and make sure you grab a copy of NZ Performance Car Issue No. 238 to get a very detailed look over the car.

Marcus Gibson has spent his life getting a little grease under his fingernails growing up with a fascination for all things loud, fast, and low. Growing up during the boom of the import scene, the last ten years have seen him work for a few publications, as well as running his own website before taking up a role at NZ Performance Car in 2011. Marcus is as at home with a keyboard or camera in-hand as he is getting dirty in his workshop or at the track, championing that Kiwi DIY attitude.
