Evo fans, we know this is a touchy subject, but you’ll be glad to know that the last ever Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution will be sold on eBay for charity. Build number 1600, the Lancer Evolution X Final Edition, will be listed for auction on September 15.

The Final Edition goes out in style with a five-speed manual gearbox, an extra 12hp, upgraded Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs and Brembo calipers. With the Evo’s proceeds going to the American charities Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange County, California, and Feeding America in River and San Bernardino, the auction will no doubt go higher than the recommended retail price, which is a great thing.

This is a truly sad time for one of the greatest all-wheel-drive sedan platforms ever built, but they’ve certainly cemented themselves within our Kiwi car culture in a big way, so the love for them will never die on this small island that we call home.
